The following students were named to the dean's list at Bates College for the winter 2014 semester -- a distinction earned by students whose cumulative grade point average is 3.71 or higher.

The following people recently were initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

Loyola University Maryland has announced the members of its fall 2013 Dean's List. In order to qualify for the Dean's List at Loyola, a student must have a GPA of at least 3.5 with a minimum of 15 credits. The following local students have achieved this honor:

The following Colgate University students are recipients of the Dean's Award for academic excellence during the fall 2013 term at Colgate University. To be eligible for the Dean's Award, a Colgate student must achieve a minumum 3.30 average while enrolled in at least four courses.

The following students have been selected for inclusion on the Dean's List for academic achievement during the spring semester at St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. To be eligible, a student must have completed at least four semester units and have an academic average of 3.6 (based on a 4.0 scale) for the semester.

The following students are participating in St. Lawrence University's Study Abroad Program for the spring 2014 semester.

Colby-Sawyer College's annual Diversity Week celebration was held Feb. 3-7. Each day during Diversity Week Colby-Sawyer community members gathered in the dining hall for the Get to Know Me CSC campaign. The campaign celebrated individuals across gender, nationality, racial and cultural lines.
